We’re still waiting to see if “Overthrown” will come with achievements to collect, since it’s kicking off in the Game Preview program first. However, what we do know for sure is that Xbox Game Pass is adding Overthrown this December. For those who enjoy a bit of chaos in their city-building ventures, keep a lookout for Overthrown when it hits Xbox Series X|S and PC on December 5.
In Overthrown, you wield the powers of a soul-stealing crown. This grants you the ability to move anything you set your eyes on, zip across the world at breakneck speeds, and perform exhilarating spin attacks. Not to mention, you can launch objects over impressive distances. According to Brimstone Interactive’s post on Xbox Wire, Overthrown is a city-building game infused with chaos and a twist. It lets you embrace your inner anime character with superhero-like abilities, and you can team up with up to five friends.
As you build and manage your perfect realm, you’ll also need to fend off bandits and mutants. Your crown’s powers will certainly make these tasks easier. However, there’s a catch: the crown can be lost or stolen, ending up in your enemy’s hands. This means you’ll need to battle a powerful new foe to retrieve it. In co-op mode, only one player gets to wear the crown—making you possibly the object of your friends’ envy as you effortlessly lift buildings and, wait for it, absorb trees.
Overthrown is shaping up to be a fantastically chaotic co-op experience, and the wait to get involved isn’t too long now. If you need something to tide you over in the meantime, why not explore our list of the best Game Pass games?
