The buzz around a potential sequel to 2023’s “Hi-Fi Rush” has fans excited, and it’s all thanks to a hint from Tango Gameworks, the Japanese developer behind the hit game. In a recent chat with IGN, the studio head, Colin Mack, shared that they are indeed exploring the possibility of a follow-up, though they’re not quite ready to officially announce anything just yet.
“We’re looking at a sequel in a positive light,” Mack mentioned to IGN. “However, we’re not at the point where we can detail exactly what our next steps will be.”
Adding to the excitement, Hi-Fi Rush director John Johanas expressed that the team has a deep affection for the game, which naturally opens up numerous possibilities for what could come next. “Many of our staff have a lot of love for Hi-Fi Rush, so we feel like we have options. We’re currently at the stage of considering various opportunities,” he noted.
Meanwhile, Kazuaki Egashira, the project manager, highlighted what makes Tango Gameworks stand out: their eagerness to pioneer innovative gaming experiences. “Hi-Fi Rush became popular as a new IP, but if Hi-Fi Rush were to stay the same forever, it would eventually become outdated,” Egashira pointed out. “I think Tango Gameworks is about taking on new challenges. I hope to continue to work in a way that puts developers at the center, without losing our passion.”
These insights provide a glimpse into the creative ambitions at Tango Gameworks, keeping fans gleefully anticipating what might come next in the “Hi-Fi Rush” saga.
