When it comes to gaming on Android, most of us head straight to the Play Store to grab the latest titles. But Xbox is cooking up something exciting—a new mobile gaming store that’s shaping up to be quite promising thanks to some recent progress.
Xbox’s journey into mobile gaming picked up speed after they joined forces with Activision last year. A page about the Xbox mobile store recently popped up online. It gives a shout-out to users who are part of the Xbox Insiders program and drops a hint about the store’s public launch being just around the corner. Although Xbox President Sarah Bond shared back in May that the Xbox Mobile Store is slated to roll out in July 2024 with games like Candy Crush and Minecraft, the precise launch date is still under wraps.
In their latest FY24 Q4 earnings update, Microsoft revealed that Xbox is engaging half a billion users each month across various platforms and devices. CEO Satya Nadella added that their “content pipeline has never been stronger,” signaling plenty of excitement for fans. The report also pointed out a 61% surge in revenue from Xbox content and services, largely thanks to a 58-point revenue bump fueled by acquiring Activision.
