This week’s lineup of new game releases swings between chilling and delightful experiences. Sometimes a game might come with a seemingly sorrowful theme, yet the gameplay itself doesn’t mirror that gloominess. We’re seeing a couple of examples of that in the batch for this week. However, that’s definitely not the case with “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.” This game dives headfirst into despair, although there are glimpses of lighter moments sprinkled throughout. Still, don’t expect to spend a solid 40 hours just strumming tunes on Ellie’s guitar.
Ahead of the others, “Koira” makes its debut, a heartwarming entry about wandering through a forest with a lost puppy. Although, the potential turns the story might take could get you emotional if you dwell on it too much. Then, you have Naughty Dog’s gritty, post-apocalyptic shooter that keeps you on the edge every 45 minutes with shocking events. “Sand” also drops on the same day, spicing up the extraction shooter genre with an intriguing element: spider tanks. Finally, “Caligo” and “Sephiria” are two additions that appear more amiable than their reality, with one game featuring a valiant bunny warrior.
Here are the game releases we’re most excited about for the week of March 31.
