Alright, let’s dive into what’s going on in the world of “Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii.” As some of you might already know, there’s a quirky little quest involving golden balls that belong to Goro Majima. Well, at least they could be his, if he’s willing to collect all seven in this entertaining sub-story.
Now, before anyone gets the wrong idea—these are literal balls made of gold scattered around the different ports Goromaru visits, reminiscent of a similar task in “Like A Dragon: Gaiden.” There was a bug that made it tough to collect them all, but no worries, that’s been sorted out. So, let’s put down the rotten tomatoes and stop threatening to unleash Kiryu, alright?
The fix came with the latest update, patch 1.12, which RGG rolled out today—March 7. The patch notes simply state: “Fixed an issue where the golden ball could not be obtained.” Classic RGG, keeping it mysterious. Which ball was playing hard to get? Why did it vanish in the first place? Did one of those ocean-roaming pirates swipe it? We may never know. But, in the spirit of Thin Lizzy, the balls are back in town, and really, that’s what counts.
Now, let’s cover what else the patch addressed:
1. Fixed an issue preventing manual saves.
2. Addressed a bug where loading a save while on a ship under specific conditions would result in the player falling into the ocean with no way back. (Sounds like quite the adventure!)
3. Corrected a problem where arcade game rankings wouldn’t save.
4. Fixed various typos and improved localization.
5. Several other bug fixes to enhance stability and gameplay quality.
For PC players, there are a couple of extra tweaks: The game now runs on Intel XeSS 2.0.1 and a rare crash issue during resource loading has been fixed. If NVIDIA GPU crashes are giving you grief, RGG suggests capping your FPS at 60 in the settings.
If you haven’t dipped your toes into Pirate Yakuza yet, be sure to check out my review. It only contains a tiny concern about whether finding the shower antics of middle-aged Japanese men less amusing means I’ve lost my sense of humor. Enjoy the adventure!
