Huawei is gearing up to enter the commercial AI laptop arena with a groundbreaking release expected by April, featuring its own Kunpeng-920 processor and a host of other in-house components.
Unveiling Huawei’s AI Laptop with Kunpeng-920 CPU and DeepSeek Integration
China’s tech behemoth, Huawei, is making bold strides to seize the domestic tech landscape. Building on its success in mobile and AI, Huawei’s sights are now set on the commercial PC sector. Insider @tphuang has revealed that Huawei is poised to launch its self-developed PC in the near future. This move not only streamlines the supply chain by leveraging proprietary components but also carves out new market niches for the company.

Though specifics about Huawei’s new commercial device remain under wraps, it’s been confirmed through Huawei Central that the laptop will join the "Qingyun" series—an enterprise line featuring notebooks, desktops, TVs, and more. A noteworthy feature is its DeepSeek integration, mirroring Microsoft’s Copilot+-certified devices. This leap into AI-enhanced PCs is aimed squarely at domestic consumers, creating considerable buzz around its impending launch.

What’s truly fascinating is that this laptop is reportedly crafted entirely from Chinese-made components, with the company’s Kunpeng-920 processor as its centerpiece. This chip, built on the ARMv8 architecture, is available in various configurations featuring up to 64 cores. While generally intended for servers, Huawei is adapting it for the commercial market, offering versions with 4, 8, or 16 cores.
The laptop is expected to run a version of HarmonyOS tailored for PCs, working in tandem with DeepSeek to handle edge AI tasks. The real question is how this device will perform for end-users. Yet, Huawei’s pivot to internally sourced products marks a promising shift. Although April has been tossed around as the possible launch timing, there’s no official word just yet.
