The much-anticipated return of Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone has introduced an exciting "Return to Verdansk" limited-time event, loaded with enticing rewards for players.
At the heart of this event is the highly sought-after Trailblazer Operator skin for Caine. Unlike some previous events in the Call of Duty series, including Black Ops 6, bagging this skin isn’t a sure thing. It’s all down to luck, and the odds aren’t exactly stacked in your favor. The skin has a notoriously low drop rate, so there’s no certainty you’ll score it before the event wraps up next week.
But don’t worry, there are ways to boost your chances, whether you’re a lone wolf or part of a squad. I haven’t clinched the skin yet myself, but I’ve been working on a strategy that I’m going to share with you—perfect for those flying solo who want to make the most of their chances.
Pro Tip: Opt for Battle Royale Casual Mode in Warzone
The trick to increasing your odds of getting the Trailblazer skin lies in playing Battle Royale Casual mode. Whether you’re rolling with a team or representing solo, this mode is your best bet for speed and higher success rates.
Here’s why: in a typical match, you’re up against 149 other players. But in Battle Royale Casual mode, most of your adversaries are AI bots. While they’ll still shoot back, they’re much less of a headache compared to real players, making Casual mode the ideal playground.
The goal is to open event safes scattered across the map, where the skin is hidden in just one. Fewer human opponents mean more chances to open those safes, especially since bots won’t be competing with you.
Casual mode also offers the quickest path to hitting all the different location-specific safe rewards. While it’s not certain that capturing all these will net you the Trailblazer skin, getting them can’t hurt.
Team Tactics: Divide and Conquer
If you’re teaming up with friends, there’s a different angle to approach this. By working together with a known squad—rather than random players—you can cover much more ground quickly. Coordination is key here, allowing each player to target different points of interest (POIs) on the map, maximizing your safe-opening opportunities and making the most of your time.
What’s more, only one player in your group has to discover the elusive "Golden Safe" for everyone to win the skin. It’s not literally golden, but it sparkles when opened. With several players hitting POIs like Stadium, Hospital, Superstore, and Prison, your squad has a greater chance of finding the right safe.
Solo Strategy: A Quick Run Through Hills
For solo players, here’s a streamlined routine you can try. If you have a faster method, feel free to share in the comments! But for those flying solo, here’s my go-to approach in the Hills area.
Within two minutes, minus loading time, you can usually hit four safes before exiting the match and repeating the process—drawing on that old "save and quit" trick you may know from other games. The safes don’t spawn every time, but you can usually count on at least three per run.
Start by dropping near the Buy Station in the Hills’ central ring. This location spawns safes most frequently, with one just behind the Buy Station next to a downed helicopter. From there, head southwest to the next safe at the Buy Station atop the hill by a stone monument.
Run faster with your melee weapon, and chances are you’ll find a vehicle to speed things up. The safe is to your left by a wall when approaching. Then, continue straight into the parking lot, where another safe might be found at the steps’ base. Keep going, and you’ll spot the final safe by trucks across the road.
If the first safe doesn’t appear by the helicopter, you might want to restart as the others might be missing too. Although this solo method pales compared to group efficiency, it’s possible to open 70–80 safes per hour—a numbers game where volume matters.
Watch the screen’s left side—if someone else gets the skin, the game should notify you, prompting a restart for another shot. Remember, it’s all a matter of luck with RNG, but this method offers a focused and efficient way to increase your chances.
