HOOP-O Studios, a fresh face in the indie gaming scene, is gearing up to release their latest venture, a mixed reality dogfighting game called “Alex and the Jets,” on Quest 3 next month.
In this engaging and casual arcade flight game, players step into the shoes of Alex the Squirrel, piloting a charmingly small fixed-wing propeller plane. The action heats up as members of “The Jets” gang make dramatic entrances through portals in your room’s walls. Your mission? Shoot them down while expertly navigating through donut-shaped gates that offer enticing weapon upgrades and health boosts.
The game also caters to players who prefer a more laid-back experience, offering a free roam mode that allows you to zip around your room stress-free. To keep things competitive, there’s a local leaderboard where you can track your achievements. Plus, a store full of cosmetic options lets you outfit Alex in new styles, adding a personal flair to your flying adventures.
Interestingly, HOOP-O Studios shared that the gameplay footage shown in their trailer was directly captured through the headset’s camera, a detail that speaks volumes about their confidence in the product.
While “Alex and the Jets” doesn’t have an official release date just yet, the studio is eyeing an April debut on the Horizon Store, available for both Quest 3 and Quest 3S users.
