As the deadline nears, virtual world fans and creators are gearing up to share their groundbreaking ideas at this year’s OpenSimulator Community Conference. If you’re thinking of presenting, make sure to submit your proposals by October 29, 2024, for the twelfth edition of this key gathering for the OpenSim community.
“We’re excited to welcome you to our twelfth anniversary as we explore both the current and future landscapes of open-source virtual worlds through innovation in creativity, technology, artistry, and education,” says conference co-chair Cynthia Calongne, known in the virtual world community as “Lyr Lobo.”
This lively two-day event is happening on December 7 and 8 and is packed with sessions on creative, educational, technical, and experiential aspects related to OpenSimulator and the expansive open metaverse.
“We’re eager to hear about your spectacular content, insights, and achievements,” Calongne mentioned to Hypergrid Business.
Conference organizers are particularly interested in presentations that highlight novel content, major achievements within the OpenSim realm, imaginative applications of OpenSimulator technology, and visions for the future of open-source virtual worlds.
Presenters will each have 20 minutes to share their talk. Aside from the speaker sessions, the event will also feature community-organized tours, an Expo, content giveaways, and hypergrid explorations.
Expect to receive acceptance notifications by October 31. If your proposal is accepted, you’ll need to register by November 7 to ensure your participation in the event lineup.
The conference festivities will begin on December 6 with a mix of music and art events, setting the stage for the main sessions on December 7 and 8.
