Disney Dreamlight Valley is revving up excitement with its latest announcement about the upcoming update launching on April 23. Fans have been eagerly anticipating this ever since the game started dropping hints about its spring update, which pays homage to the timeless Disney classic, Alice in Wonderland.
The drip feed of teasers began last November when Disney Dreamlight Valley unveiled its 2025 Free Content Roadmap. Players were quick to notice details in the winter teaser image, such as Jasmine’s glittering teal headband and Aladdin’s iconic red fez. These clues led to the correct assumption that Jasmine and Aladdin were set to be featured in the Winter 2025 update. Similarly, players picked up on the hints for the spring update—a mysterious forest with a familiar, cheekily grinning smile that brought to mind the Cheshire Cat, sparking speculation about an Alice in Wonderland-themed release. And they were spot on, as proven by the teaser videos shared across the game’s social media platforms on April 14, confirming their hunches about the Wonderland Whimsy update.
The Wonderland Whimsy update follows the typical formula fans have come to expect from Disney Dreamlight Valley. It promises new characters, some quality of life tweaks, a fresh Star Path, and additional items in the Premium Shop. Dropping into the Valley this time are Alice and the Cheshire Cat, each coming with ten levels of Friendship Rewards. But before players can befriend these characters, they’ll have to navigate the Wonderland Realm—complete with a tumble down the rabbit hole, a trek through a whimsical forest, and a showdown with the Queen of Hearts’ playing card guards.
Alice’s friendship quests hint at a whimsical tea party feature, while the Cheshire Cat is set to bring a little chaos into the Valley, appearing unpredictably across the map. The Garden of Whimsy Star Path mirrors the update’s namesake with its six tiers, drawing inspiration from both springtime themes, Alice in Wonderland, and the Disney Fairies franchise. Expect a blend of pixie and Victorian style in the Garden of Whimsy’s clothing. Meanwhile, Minnie Mouse fans will delight in a fresh Premium Dreamstyle makeover, and the update also introduces a new Companion—the iconic caterpillar-turned-butterfly from Alice in Wonderland.
Among the new features, Disney Dreamlight Valley has not held back. After tricking players with a playful April Fools’ Day joke about “Dreamlight Stompers,” the game has revealed a genuinely new feature: the Uncrafting station. This tool provides the same anticipated functionality as the fictitious stompers were rumored to, and players can unlock it by advancing through the Cheshire Cat’s friendship quests.
The update also introduces some sought-after quality of life upgrades. Players now have the option to add extra slots to any small or medium-sized chests for a small Dreamlight fee. Additionally, the game’s build mode has gained a sub-grid feature specifically designed for items with surfaces, like tables, allowing them to be adorned with an array of trinkets and recipes. In preparation for May 4, Star Wars items will make their way to the Premium Shop. So mark your calendars, because on April 23, you’ll be falling down the rabbit hole for a fantastical journey through Disney Dreamlight Valley’s unique spin on Wonderland.
