Funcom has announced a one-month delay in the launch of their game, Dune: Awakening, after receiving insights from its beta testing phase.
On their website, Funcom explained that the release, initially set for May 15th, is now scheduled for June 10th. The shift comes in response to feedback gathered from participants in their ongoing closed beta.
In Dune: Awakening, players battle for dominance over the planet Arrakis in an alternate timeline where the series’ famed character, Paul Atreides, never makes his mark on the empire—avoiding, perhaps, the chaos he might have unleashed.
“The feedback from our beta testers has been tremendously helpful in shaping a high-quality game,” shared Funcom.
They elaborated on how their active Discord community allows developers to communicate directly with testers, fostering a collaborative approach to refining the game.
“Having a little extra time will enable us to act on more of the crucial feedback from our testers,” Funcom continued.
“We don’t make this decision lightly. We understand everyone is eager to jump in, but the additional three weeks will allow us to enhance elements ensuring a smoother experience right from launch.”
Moreover, this delay clears the path for a large-scale beta weekend planned for next month, offering even more gamers a chance to participate and provide input. More details about this event are promised soon.
