Naughty Dog has just released the 2.0.1 update for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Let’s start with the positive side: the update addresses an issue where unlockables had disappeared after the previous patch. The drawback, however, is that you’ll need an earlier save to get them back.
Here’s a quick rundown of what the patch notes for the PS5 version entail:
The update reinstates campaign unlockables—including additional weapon holsters and skill points—that players previously lost when they continued from a save file made before Patch 2.0.0. To regain these unlockables, you’ll need to use a save file created before April 3, 2025, at 10 am PT/1 pm ET. Unfortunately, if you’ve been playing and saving your progress between April 3, 2025, and updating to patch 2.0.1, those unlockables might still be lost.
If your older save files have been overwritten, you might be in a bind, as recovering those unlockables much after that time frame seems unlikely. Besides that, there are also ongoing reports about missing No Return skins that players unlocked before patch 2.0.0. Naughty Dog is aware and working on it, promising a fix in a future update. They’ve invited affected players to get in touch with their support team for assistance.
Keep an eye out here for more updates—we’ll be sure to let you know the moment Naughty Dog releases a new hotfix to tackle these lingering issues.
