Nintendo has announced that tomorrow, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, they will be airing a Nintendo Direct devoted to the Nintendo Switch 2. This exciting presentation is expected to last about an hour.

Last month, Nintendo finally unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2, putting an end to a whirlwind of rumors, alleged leaks, and speculation surrounding the successor to their popular portable home console.
In the brief reveal video, we got a glimpse of the console’s design and a sneak peek at a brand new Mario Kart game. The video also confirmed that this new hardware will support backward compatibility with the original console.
Nintendo has clarified that the Switch 2 will support both physical and digital Switch games. However, they did note that some Nintendo Switch games might not run on or be fully compatible with the new device.
The global release of the Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for sometime in 2025, though the exact launch date hasn’t been nailed down yet.
