Fortnite fans have been buzzing with excitement as Epic Games unveiled the upcoming Season 3 OG Pass, set to drop on March 25. This release is particularly special because it features exciting new remixes of fan-favorite skins: Raptor, Raven, and the much-discussed astronaut believed to be none other than Dark Voyager. While this nostalgic mode doesn’t quite capture the massive player base of Fortnite’s main battle royale, it’s certainly struck a chord with a dedicated portion of the community.
However, not all feedback has been positive. A number of players have expressed frustration with the pricing of the OG Pass. Priced at 1,000 V-Bucks, it’s on par with the main battle pass, yet it offers considerably fewer cosmetics and doesn’t include any V-Bucks. This discrepancy has left some fans feeling shortchanged, leading to calls for a price reduction. On the flip side, there’s speculation that the high price point is a strategic move to make the Crew subscription appear more attractive.
The latest trailer from Epic Games provided a sneak peek at the new skins included with the OG Pass, available to Crew subscribers. Fans got a good look at Lucky Landing, a beloved point of interest that’s making a comeback. Among the fresh skin updates, Raven has been reimagined with a medieval twist, donning knight armor; Raptor is now outfitted with futuristic power armor; and Dark Voyager’s new look channels a punk aesthetic, complete with a spiked leather vest and sleek, reflective gear.
A surprising highlight for longtime enthusiasts is the return of the iconic meteor from OG Season 3, a pivotal event that had a significant impact on Fortnite’s ever-evolving map. Given its narrative-driven spectacle, many are hopeful that other legendary live events might also make a comeback. Luckily, the wait to dive into these fresh experiences won’t be too long, as March 25 marks the commencement of the new season.
In spite of the general enthusiasm for the classic mode, Epic Games recently had to shut down servers for Fortnite OG Ranked Zero Build, citing insufficient player numbers to sustain it. While this aspect faced struggles, it hasn’t dampened the community’s eagerness to see what other surprises are in store for the classic game mode.
In related news, whispers around the Fortnite community suggest that popular artist Sabrina Carpenter could soon make a debut in the game, adding yet another layer of anticipation for Fortnite fans.
