According to the latest information, NVIDIA has informed its board partners that both the RTX 5060 series GPUs will face a delay and are expected to launch a few weeks later than initially planned.
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Set for April Debut, Followed by RTX 5060 in May
Just as we were gearing up for the release of the GeForce RTX 5070, there are murmurs of a delay affecting the RTX 5060 series GPUs. Initially pegged for a March launch with availability in April, today’s news suggests the release has been pushed back further.
While the exact reasons remain unclear, Board Channels has confirmed that all NVIDIA’s board partners received notification of this delay. Although this hasn’t been officially confirmed by NVIDIA yet, given their silence on the RTX 5060 launch, it’s highly plausible. Previous chatter hinted at bugs and supply chain hiccups causing hold-ups, but again, no official word on that.
In an internal communication, NVIDIA has informed all AIC partners about the postponement of the new RTX 5060 Ti / 5060 series products. They indicated that the RTX 5060 Ti 16G / 8G series might now release around mid-April, with the RTX 5060 series following in mid-May. The precise schedule is awaiting further confirmation from NVIDIA.

So, the current buzz places the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti launch in ‘mid-April,’ with the GeForce RTX 5060 following about a month later in ‘mid-May.’ It seems both variants of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti are expected to make their debut simultaneously, but exact dates remain under wraps, even for NVIDIA’s partners.
On another note, the market launch of these RTX 5060 series GPUs might coincide with AMD’s RX 9060 series GPUs, which include the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060, offering both 8 GB and 16 GB options. This positions them as direct rivals to the RTX 5060 Ti’s similar configurations. While the AMD RX 9060 series release date isn’t locked in, rumors suggest a second quarter release.
The upcoming GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is positioned as NVIDIA’s follow-up to the RTX 4060 Ti, boasting 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a power draw of 180W. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is set to succeed the RTX 4060, featuring 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150W. There’s also talk of a 12 GB VRAM version of the RTX 5060 based on leaked info, which could give it an edge over the RX 9060 series, which is anticipated to only offer an 8 GB model.
