Warhorse Studios has set the gaming world abuzz with the upcoming mammoth update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. They’ve got everyone’s attention with a hefty 34 pages worth of patch notes. Since its release in February to critical acclaim, players have been thoroughly enjoying the medieval adventure. Now, with patch 1.2 on the horizon, Warhorse is ready to roll out its first significant content update. This isn’t just about new content; it’s a comprehensive effort to enhance the overall gameplay experience with a slew of bug fixes.
The much-awaited update is dropping on Thursday, March 13, and it’s coming at no cost to players across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Among the exciting new features is a cool barber function, bringing personalized style options for Henry with various hair and beard styles. Additionally, PC users will rejoice as modding support via Steamworks is finally here, opening the door for endless customization.
While the previous update made strides in stability and adjusted specific quests, there are still numerous lingering bugs. This update aims to address them in a big way. Most notably, fans are hopeful it’ll finally resolve the persistent and ever-present in-game rain that’s been a point of contention among the community.
In a recent Twitter post, Warhorse Studios’ PR Manager, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, highlighted the extensive list of changes coming with the patch, inviting players to prepare for an overhaul. Though the patch brings plenty of improvements, some fans might be disappointed as the anticipated Hardcore mode won’t be included in this update. This mode promises to up the realism factor with a minimal HUD and tough gameplay conditions that include choosing negative perks like “Bad Luck” and “Heavy-Footed.”
While hardcore mode may still be a work in progress, there’s plenty else to look forward to. The community’s top concern, the much-lamented rain, is hopefully on the chopping block for fixes. Players have complained about the seemingly omnipresent rain, even when deep underground or inside buildings, and resolving this issue would undoubtedly satisfy a large part of the player base.
The update is poised to significantly improve Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and the anticipation is palpable. With the modding support and personalized features, plus a monumental wave of bug fixes, the game’s future looks bright for both old fans and newcomers alike.
