In Chapter 5-2 of the game, aptly named “A World Turned Upside Down,” players are hitting a frustrating snag. There’s an essential NPC that’s supposed to show up, and when they don’t, you find yourself stuck with no way to move forward. If you’ve already managed to get past this part, you’re off the hook. But if you’re nearing it, it might be wise to hit the pause button on your campaign for now.
Thankfully, you won’t be waiting long for a fix. Capcom has assured players that a patch is on the way, scheduled to be rolled out tonight. Look for it to go live at 3 a.m. EST and midnight PST on March 4. Keep in mind that if you’re planning a late-night Monster Hunter Wilds session with friends, be prepared for a brief interruption. The patch will log players out of any online sessions as soon as it’s released, and you’ll need to update the game to dive back into the online action. This update not only tackles the NPC glitch but also addresses other reported issues, like those affecting the Ingredient Center and Grill a Meal.
Moreover, Monster Hunter Wilds hasn’t escaped criticism when it comes to performance, especially on the PC. The reception on Steam, for instance, is lukewarm at best, with reviews marking it as “mixed.” The gaming experts over at Digital Foundry have also weighed in, recommending users steer clear of the PC version due to what they’re calling “profound performance problems.”
