A fresh leak related to Genshin Impact has got players buzzing with information about a brand-new five-star weapon set to debut in the forthcoming update. Even though the 5.4 update of Genshin Impact isn’t here yet, whispers have emerged about what Version 5.5 might bring to the table.
Before every update, Genshin Impact runs a beta phase, which usually spills the beans on most of the upcoming features like new regions, armaments, and characters. Based on some recent leaks, the next update, 5.5, is gearing up to introduce two new faces to the game: Iansan and Varesa.
Weapons play a pivotal role in shaping each character’s capabilities in Genshin Impact, heavily influencing their effectiveness in battles. Typically, whenever a new five-star character is added to the lineup, a signature five-star weapon follows. According to a new buzz on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, the upcoming Version 5.5 is set to introduce a five-star Catalyst aptly named Rainbow’s Wish for the character Varesa. This weapon promises a significant boost in offensive stats. Its secondary stat is CRIT Damage, hinting that Varesa, the five-star character linked with it, will primarily serve as a Damage Per Second (DPS) powerhouse in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Details of Varesa’s Signature Weapon Unveiled
- Weapon Type: Catalyst
- Weapon Rarity: Five-star
- Base ATK: 674
- Secondary Stat: CRIT Damage
- Secondary Stat Value: 44.1%
- Passive Effect: The weapon increases ATK by 28%. When the user performs a Plunging Attack, they receive the ‘First Light’s Color’ effect, enhancing Plunging Attack CRIT Damage by 28%. Additionally, using an Elemental Skill or Burst further boosts Plunging Attack CRIT Damage by 40%, with both boosts lasting up to 15 seconds, terminating after a Plunging Attack is executed. This design strongly suggests its suitability for DPS characters in Genshin Impact that focus on Plunging Attacks for major damage output.
However, fans have mixed feelings about the new weapon, expressing concerns about its limited utility. Few characters, especially Catalyst users, rely heavily on Plunging Attack damage. Though Varesa’s abilities are still under wraps, this weapon information hints that she might primarily deal damage through Plunging Attacks.
Regarding Varesa’s debut, official details about her appearance in event banners are still under wraps. Nevertheless, if HoYoverse sticks to its pattern of introducing new five-star characters in the first cycle, players might be able to welcome Version 5.5 and Varesa around March 26.
