Since Friday evening or perhaps early Saturday morning, depending on your location, PSN has been experiencing a widespread outage. The network services have been offline for over ten hours now, understandably frustrating players worldwide.
## Sony Faces Criticism Over Ongoing PSN Outage
Initially, Sony was slow to acknowledge the disruption, but they eventually updated the PlayStation server status page to confirm that all services are currently down worldwide. This has left gamers in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand unable to play for the majority of Saturday, leaving many feeling quite disappointed.
The PSN services currently affected include:
– Account management
– Gaming and social
– PlayStation Video
– PlayStation Store
– PlayStation Direct
For those with extensive digital libraries, this outage can be particularly troublesome, as many games require license verification, preventing a large number of players from enjoying their titles.
It’s almost 4 p.m. here, and it looks like I won’t be leveling up in Battlefield V today. So, I’m planning to head out for some groceries and finally tackle building the Lego Concorde that’s been gathering dust on my table for nearly a month.
What’s everyone else planning to do this weekend, aside from gaming (hopefully, once PSN is back)? Feel free to share your plans!
