Hello everyone! We’re just a day away from unveiling the latest thrilling chapter of Marvel’s Spider-Man series on PC. Get ready to swing into action as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, facing off against a lineup of legendary Marvel villains like the formidable Venom and the relentless Kraven the Hunter.
As the launch approaches, I can’t wait to dive into the fantastic new PC enhancements that the brilliant team at Nixxes has been crafting.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, a collaborative masterpiece by Insomniac and Marvel, truly stands out with its breathtaking tech and visual brilliance. The game utilizes cutting-edge ray-tracing technology to make Marvel’s New York come alive. PC gamers are in for a treat with an assortment of ray-tracing options featuring customizable quality settings, all designed to optimize performance and image quality across various hardware setups.
Take a swing through New York’s iconic skyscrapers, and it’s impossible not to notice the stunning ray-traced reflections bouncing off the skyscraper glass. We’ve also integrated options for ray-traced interiors, shadows, and ambient occlusion. This means you get even more lifelike shadows and a sense of depth around every corner.
For those armed with top-tier Super Hero-grade PCs, we’ve ramped up the raytracing geometry detail. This unlocks higher-quality meshes for super-detailed reflections. Plus, the raytracing object range slider broadens the scope for what gets reflected. Not to mention, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC also boasts NVIDIA’s DLSS Ray Reconstruction1 feature that elevates your raytracing experience. Let’s hear from Menno Bil, Graphics Programmer at Nixxes, who can delve a bit deeper into this feature:
“NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction merges denoising and frame upscaling into one seamless process, preserving details across multiple frames to enhance raytracing effects. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, enabling ray reconstruction results in more intricate ray-traced reflections and shadows, especially when viewed from steep angles. It also enhances ray-traced interiors and minimizes ghosting and noise in ambient occlusion. We offer two NVIDIA Ray Reconstruction models—the classic DLSS 3.5 and a refined model tailored for RTX 40 series GPUs and later. This provides a more temporally stable image and markedly improves raytracing quality.” – Menno Bil
Folks with ultra-wide monitors are in for a full treat with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, supporting expansive aspect ratios like 21:9, 32:9, and going up to 48:9 with triple monitor setups. Our meticulous engineering and art teams have ensured every cinematic scene adapts perfectly to up to a 32:9 display.
Furthermore, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC introduces several performance-enhancing technologies, including NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3.1 upscaling, and frame generation, not forgetting Intel XeSS upscaling.
Whether you aim to max out on all the visual bells and whistles or prefer optimal performance on older systems, this game provides extensive graphics settings to cater to your needs. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC includes features like dynamic resolution scaling for those who wish to dial it back from ray-tracing heavy settings. Below is a peek at the recommended specifications for each graphics preset category.
