The eagerly anticipated Cold VR was set to hit the shelves on January 21st. However, in a last-minute decision, developer ALLWARE and publisher Perp Games decided to delay its release, stating the game needed just a bit more refinement. Now, they’re back with an update and a firm launch date: mark your calendars for February 11th.
Cold VR presents itself as a spiritual successor to the hugely popular Superhot VR. It promises to deliver the same thrilling, time-bending action but with a fresh twist on its narrative and mechanics.
Much like its predecessor, Cold VR centers around the dynamic relationship between your movements and the game clock. Your actions determine the flow of time—if you move, time slows down. This means you’ll have to act swiftly and strategize efficiently because if you linger, the game’s enemies will speed up, challenging your reflexes and decision-making.
The game is set to debut initially on Quest and PC VR headsets. You’ll be able to find it on the Horizon Store for Quest 2/3/Pro and on Steam for PC VR enthusiasts, all for the price of $20.
As for PlayStation fans, there’s good news on the horizon too. The studio has plans to launch on PSVR 2 “soon.” This seems promising since you can already add it to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store.
So get ready to dive into Cold VR’s unique take on time manipulation, and prepare for an experience that’s poised to keep you on your toes from start to finish.
