ASRock’s latest Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs have made a splash online, introducing the soon-to-be-launched Steel Legend and Taichi custom models.
ASRock is gearing up to reveal an impressive array of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs, specifically spotlighting the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. Even though we haven’t seen “official” images from other manufacturers yet, ASRock’s GPUs have been sneakily previewed on the web, showcasing three different configurations: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger. Let’s start with the Taichi series, which appears to be ASRock’s top-tier option. This model boasts a stylish triple-fan design paired with a robust heatsink, hence the reason it takes up three slots in your setup.
What stands out about the Taichi variant is its 12V-2×6 power connector. Not every model will adopt this standard since AMD has given AIB partners the freedom to choose based on power needs. This connector can handle up to 600W of power, suggesting that the Taichi is built to handle some serious specs and is primed for overclocking potential.
Moving on to the Steel Legend variant, ASRock targets the mid-range market with this option, dressed in sleek white and silver hues. It’s designed with a 2.5-slot triple fan configuration. Unlike the Taichi, this model skips the 12V-2×6 connector and instead comes equipped with a 2x 8-pin standard connector—which is typical for AMD’s AIB models—with the exception of some higher-tier models like the Taichi.
Wondering when you can get your hands on these? Your chances look promising for next week, as that’s when AMD is anticipated to kick off pre-orders for its RX 9070 series GPUs.
