Square Enix has officially announced that the next season of Foamstars, aptly named “Party Goes On!”, will be its curtain call. Slated to run from December 13, 2024, through January 17, 2025, this season marks the end of the road for new seasonal content in the multiplayer shooter.
### Foamstars Seasonal Content Wraps Up
While updates may be wrapping up, fear not; Foamstars isn’t going away. Square Enix has plans to enhance the gaming experience with a few fresh features after the upcoming season concludes.
In an effort to keep players engaged, the next update will come loaded with gameplay enhancements. Expect customization options for character shots and other exciting elements designed to elevate the fun. As the developer puts it, these additions ensure that players can continue to enjoy Foamstars “for the foreseeable future.” It’s a clear sign that the game intends to stick around for a while.
Once “Party Goes On!” bids adieu, Foamstars will host a new series of events called the Foamstars Cup. Say goodbye to Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe and Ranked Party Lonestar. Instead, get ready for the Foamstars Cup Freedom League and Legend League. Every four weeks, each cup will spotlight a specific Foamstar, complete with unique rewards like items and icons themed after the featured character. Both events promise daily excitement.
Moreover, starting January 17, 2025, past Foamstars Season Passes will be back for grabs. Players, whether newbies or veterans, can select from previous passes at no extra charge. However, the Premium Pass still comes at a cost, while the basic one remains free. Plus, if you’re looking for specific rewards, certain tiers of a Season Pass can be purchased separately.
Expect a slight shift in the challenge landscape post-season. Limited Time challenges will transform into Event challenges, featuring a Daily Challenge with daily updates and an Event Challenge that refreshes every Saturday. Weekly challenges will largely stay the same but will now rotate every four weeks instead of five.
Foamstars made its debut in February 2024 for PS4 and PS5. It garnered “Mixed to Average” reviews, landing a 57 metascore on Metacritic. Initially part of the February 2024 PS Plus lineup, the game later hit the PS Store shelf for $29.99 before going free-to-play in August.
