Ultimate European Online Challenge: Winter Clash 2024,” an exhilarating online event that’s set to take the competition into the digital arena on the Nintendo Switch! Organized by Nintendo of Europe SE, based in Frankfurt, Germany, this virtual showdown promises some heated action.

Event Period and Locations

Mark your calendars for Friday, December 6th, as the event kicks off from 6 PM to 8 PM CET (or 5 PM to 7 PM if you’re in the UK). Gamers residing in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom will all have a chance to join in the fun. Unfortunately, players from regions too far from central Europe, like the Azores and Svalbard, might find themselves sitting this one out for connection reasons.

Participation

If you want in on the action, here’s what you need: a Nintendo Account registered in one of the participating countries and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, whether it’s a free trial or any paid subscription. Ensure you have access to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on your Nintendo Switch. To dive into the competition, fire up the game, navigate through the main menu to “Online,” and look for “Official Tourney Qualifiers” to get started. The goal? Play at least one event tourney match to officially take part.

Tourney Score

The fierce competition centers around scoring the highest Tourney score—an exclusive rating that’s all about showcasing your skill. Your score reflects your performance against others, factoring in the Tourney scores of your opponents. Players can check their personal Tourney scores at any time during the event. And here’s a bonus: you can play as many matches as time allows to boost that score. Even if a match wraps up after the event’s official end time, as long as it started during the event, it counts towards your score!

Winners and Prizes

The top 10 scorers will each snag a cool 2,500 My Nintendo Gold Points. Meanwhile, those who rank from 11 to 100 will earn themselves 1,000 points each. Keep in mind, though, if you change your account’s country to one outside the listed participating areas before prizes are handed out, you’re out of luck. Cheaters beware: engaging in foul play or exploiting game bugs will not only see you disqualified but could result in a suspended or terminated account. All prizes are final, so no cash swaps!

Delivery

If you’re among the lucky winners, expect those Gold Points to land in your Nintendo Account within two weeks of the event finishing. It’s easy to keep track—just check your My Nintendo Point Log once logged in.
