Bandai Namco, the renowned Japanese publisher, has announced a significant change by closing down its online division, known as Bandai Namco Online.
In their recent statement, the company revealed that all activities of this subsidiary will now be incorporated under the main Bandai Namco brand. However, there’s currently no information on how this transition might impact the employees.
Established in 2009, Bandai Namco Online was created to concentrate on developing online games, with notable titles like Dragon Ball Z: X KeeperZ, Gundam Evolution, and Blue Protocol under its belt.
The decision to dissolve this segment comes as a response to “recent changes in the environment surrounding the game business,” according to the company. They also aim to bolster the overall management system of their digital enterprise.
In an earlier announcement this year, Bandai Namco shared that Blue Protocol, an MMO developed in collaboration with Amazon, is slated for closure on January 18th, 2025.
