Greetings, Xbox enthusiasts! We’re thrilled to let you know that our latest game, Overthrown, is set to make its debut in Xbox Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Mark your calendars for December 5, and guess what? You’ll find it available on Game Pass. For those new to Overthrown, it’s a city builder, but with a unique twist. We’ve thrown in some delightful chaos and let you step into the shoes of an anime-style character packed with superhero powers, all while teaming up with up to five of your friends. Of course, you’ll still need to build a city, fend off mutants and bandits, and keep everything running smoothly. Today, I’m here to dish out some tips on how to make the most of your co-op adventures.
Let’s dive into the backstory a bit. Thanks to a mystical, ancient crown with soul-stealing powers, you get the ability to lift anything in your path—big trees? Easy. Monster nests? Even easier. You could even haul an entire sawmill building if you felt like it. Imagine zipping through the forest, picking up trees along the way—your strength knows no bounds! With talents like supersonic speed, a legendary throw, and a helicopter-like spin attack, you’ll be in for some epic fun. Now picture all this power shared with up to five friends. The hilarity and excitement are endless!
To help you get started and tailor your cooperative play, I’ve put together a few handy tips.
## One Crown to Rule Them All
In co-op mode, the Crown is up for grabs on the map, and it’s a race to see who can snatch it first! While everyone gains Crown powers, wearing it gives you a reserve charge edge, letting you perform cooler moves faster. Although it’s a team effort, it never hurts to be the best at cooperating, right? Occasionally, a Tuskar or an Outlaw might snag the Crown, making it all the sweeter to reclaim it. Whoever wins it back gets an extra boost, sparking a friendly competition. Remember, Overthrown has no PvP, so friendly fire isn’t an option!
## Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Next up, the more workstations you set up in your city, the faster your citizen count grows. Friends can divvy up tasks—some might focus on different areas or districts to speed things along. And let’s face it, not everyone enjoys the same jobs. If building is your jam while your buddy thrives in battle, then split the load! It’s a seamless way to share responsibilities.
## Experiment
Lastly, don’t be afraid to experiment. Overthrown was crafted from the spark of players’ curiosity. We encourage you to question, “Can I do this?” and “What happens if I do that?” The answers are usually “Of course!” and “Go for it!” We’ve designed the game with interactivity at its core, so you can revel in surprises, spontaneity, and just plain silly fun with friends. Isn’t that what gaming together is all about?
We hope Overthrown catches your interest, whether you dive in solo or bring your friends along for the ride. As we journey through Game Preview, community feedback will shape our path forward, and we’d love for you to be part of it all. Your adventure begins on December 5 when Overthrown launches on Xbox Game Preview and Game Pass for both consoles and PC.
Please note, this article originally mentioned a December 10 release date, which has now been corrected to December 5. Enjoy the game!
