Many fans eagerly anticipating the PS Plus Black Friday 2024 discounts have found themselves disappointed, as the deal seems unavailable to them. Recently, we highlighted how Sony is steering towards personalized offers, meaning that discounts might appear randomly for different players. It’s no surprise that missing out during such a major sales event is frustrating for many.

Sony’s announcements on the PS Blog detail the promotion: new players can enjoy a 30% discount on any 12-month PS Plus membership plan. If you’re already a member, there’s good news if you’re planning to upgrade—moving from Essential to Extra or Premium, or from Extra to Premium, comes with a discount.

However, for Premium members who don’t have an upgrade path, securing a discount on renewing or extending their subscriptions seems to involve a bit of luck. It’s almost like being part of a lottery.

On Reddit, there’s a lively discussion among subscribers about the different discounts they’ve received for renewing or extending their memberships. Some, like myself, haven’t been offered any discounts at all. As an Essential member, I received a 30% discount offer when upgrading straight to Premium, and a 25% offer to move to Extra.
