At Pure Xbox, we’ve often sung the praises of Xbox Play Anywhere, highlighting its many benefits and even showcasing some top-tier games that joined the lineup in 2024. However, like any great service, it isn’t without its hiccups.
One of the biggest challenges gamers face is figuring out which titles are compatible with Xbox Play Anywhere and which aren’t. Microsoft’s tagging system on the Xbox Store could use some work—often, it feels like a game of chance to see if a title bears the label. Even more frustrating, numerous Play Anywhere games don’t even show up on the Xbox PC app!
Thankfully, there’s a bright spot on the horizon. The dedicated Xbox Era community has taken matters into their own hands and compiled a comprehensive "master list" of Xbox Play Anywhere games, boasting over 1,100 titles. This handy guide is your go-to resource for Xbox Play Anywhere, laid out in an easy-to-digest format.
While we’re not going to repost their entire list—no point in stepping on toes—you can check it out for yourself over on their site. There’s no doubt that the team put an incredible amount of effort into this project. But remember, it’s a work in progress. You might stumble across a few hidden gems not yet included. If that happens, they’ve even set up a "Game Submission Request" form for you to add your discoveries.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Xbox Play Anywhere concept, allow me to shed some light. It’s Microsoft’s initiative where purchasing a game on your Xbox allows you to play it on your PC for free via the Xbox app—ideal for those of us who like to jump between consoles and PCs frequently.
This year alone, we’ve welcomed several fantastic additions to the Xbox Play Anywhere roster. Knowing that Xbox’s head honcho, Phil Spencer, is an advocate for the service, it’s exciting to imagine how much this list could expand over the coming year.
Are you a frequent user of Xbox Play Anywhere? We’d love to hear about your experiences in the comments.
